WHAT ARE THE EAR-CLIPS MADE OF?

All the handcrafted ear-clips are made of 925/000 silver**. This silver is known colloquially as sterling silver. The silver is produced in Germany and therefore conforms to the European guidelines for production. That is particularly relevant with regard to allergies, since jewellery manufactured in Germany must not contain nickel, for example, above certain levels. All the important processes relating to biocompatibility of the silver, such as purity of the raw material and quality of the processing, are monitored and checked.

**Composition of the silver alloy 925/000 silver, i.e. for 1,000 parts there are 925 of pure silver and 75 parts of copper or similar; thus creating a material with properties that are suited to jewellery-making.

The different colour tones in the ear-clips are produced by further processing of the silver. The following choice of colours is available in the collection:

Pure silver

For some years there has been a strong trend for silver jewellery. This precious metal can be adapted to every style, giving a light, youthful effect. Silver reacts with the sulphur in the air. This is known colloquially as “tarnishing”. This patina can be removed by professional cleaning, but is often appreciated for its antique look.

Antique black

Antique black is the name for a chemical process called controlled tarnishing. This treatment gives Eora hearing accessories a classic, graceful look. The piece of jewellery seems to tell a story.

Rhodium-plated

A galvanic coating, i.e. rhodium-plating, gives Eora hearing accessories a modern, sporty shine and makes them extremely resistant. “Tarnishing” does not take place. Rhodium-plated surfaces are completely in trend with regard to colour and processing of silver jewellery.

Gold-plated (pale gold / pure gold)

Gold has fascinated people ever since it was first discovered. The brilliance of the sun reflected in it brings everyone under its spell. Gold plating, also a galvanic coating process, not only gives the jewellery a special look, but also protects it from tarnishing. This can be done in different shades, here pale gold and pure gold. This allows the customer’s individual style to be taken into account.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO THE SILVER?

Allergic reactions cannot be completely ruled out. Since silver has antiseptic properties, an allergic reaction to it is however very rare.

HOW SHOULD THE EAR-CLIPS BE STORED?

Silver is a precious metal and therefore mostly corrosion-free, but it does react with sulphur from the air. Colloquially, this is known as “tarnishing”. Storage in rooms with a high moisture level, such as the bathroom, is not recommended; contact with sulphur-containing materials, which may be contained in perfumes, creams etc. should be avoided. Please do not use your hearing accessories in the sauna, the swimming pool or otherwise in water. It is best to store the ear-clips in the jewellery case provided with them. The customer  should be advised that fine materials such as silk or wool, for instance from scarves or other items of clothing, can get caught in them due to the net structure used to facilitate uniform sound reception.

HOW SHOULD THE EAR-CLIPS BE CLEANED?

We recommend professional cleaning by a goldsmith or jeweller that you trust to restore the ear-clips to their former perfect brilliance.

HOW CAN THE PRESSURE OF THE EAR-CLIPS BE CHANGED?

Additional silicon pads, supplied with the clips, can be put onto the clips to reduce the pressure on the earlobe. You can, of course, remove these clips carefully yourself. Since every ear is individual, it is possible to have the ear-clips carefully fitted by trained staff. No liability will be accepted for inexpert bending of the clip mechanism.

WHO IS ALLOWED TO SELL EORA PRODUCTS?

EORA may only be sold by approved and licensed sales agents. The company Augenoptik- und Hörgeräteakustik Riedel GmbH, represented by Bertram Riedel, is responsible for selecting and maintaining relations with the sales partners.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN THE DAILY USE OF EORA PRODUCTS?

You can find information on this topic in the instruction booklet that is supplied with all Bernafon hearing devices and the product information sheet that accompanies all EORA hearing accessories. Please be aware that the ear-clip and the hearing device have been delicately handcrafted and must be treated appropriately. In particular avoid pressure on the transparent tube of the hearing device. When putting them on, take care at the sides on the right and the left. If they are put on the wrong way round the transparent tube can get damaged on the metal of the ear-clip. The hearing device should not be put in or taken out using hard or sharp objects. Use your hands only. Damage to the ear-clip or to the tube caused by the user is not covered by the guarantees of either of the manufacturers and repairs resulting from this will be charged for.
